Umm Ali or Om Ali - Egyptian Dessert!

Umm Ali is the traditional Egyptian dessert, scrumptious and aromatic. Best recipe to fulfill your tooth craving.


Here's the recipe..

Ingredients:

200gm puff pastry
200ml or 1 cup thick cream
1 cup milk
½ tin condensed milk
3 pods cardamom (crushed)
dry fruits (almonds, pistachio, desiccated coconut, black & golden raisins)


Method:
Grease a baking pan, crush the puff pastry and put half in base. Spread some dry fruits.


Put remaining crushed puff pastry and some more dry fruits. Set it a side.


In a mixing bowl add together the milk, cardamom, condensed milk and Olper's Cream and mix very well. pour it gradually on layered puff pastry.


Sprinkle some dry fruits and bake it for 20 minutes on 180° until the top is brown and most of the liquid dries up.


When the baking is 90 percent done sprinkle the rest of the dry fruits and nuts on top so they won't burn and taste bitter and look brown.


Allow the dessert to cool down for 10 minutes.
Serve it warm or at room temperature. Njoy!!
